Our Story

U3A was introduced at Highvale in 1996. The first President was Denis Ball, shown receiving a certificate for Lifetime Membership on the occasion of our tenth anniversary in 2006.

Located in a retirement village in Glen Waverley, we benefit from the use of facilities and rooms provided by the village management.

The U3A Approach

Tutors and group leaders volunteer to share their experience, knowledge and skills with members.

The annual membership fee entitles members to join as many classes as they wish, subject to class size and timetable constraints.

We are a university only in the sense that we provide a wide range of learning experiences and activities.

Our Code of Conduct

The 2017 Committee

As an Incorporated Body (Reg. No. A0035750D), we are required by state law to have a Committee of Management. We rely on the generosity and commitment of members to fill positions on the committee. Elections for these positions are held annually at the AGM in early March.
